Welcome to August 2026! It’s hard to believe that the year is almost half-way over! To start off the month, I’d like to focus on a few of my favorite fantasy novels that one might want to read if you ever come across these books in the bookstore itself. First, there is the Lord of the Rings book series, published by J.R.R. Tolkien in 1954, with the last book being published in 1955, and there is, of course, the widely famous movie series in the 2000’s that has gone with it. Honestly, it truly does not need a introduction, as it created the fantasy genre, and the ‘hero’s journey’. The second book series, is the Moonfall Series by James Rollins. This needs a bit more introduction, While I have not finished the book series itself, it seems to take place, and I suspect, on a post-apocalyptic future Earth that is tidally locked, and follows three-ish main characters, with more being added. It feels like Game of Thrones in a sense, which makes the series more enjoyable. Hopefully, I will have the choice to finish the series soon, it’s a long one, with a fourth book on the way, which I was not expecting.
