Just as I am including the Fantasy genre, i should also include the other side, that being the science-fiction side. For those who’s interests are not aligned to these, stay tuned, as I will update more in the following weeks. Now, to start, and this post is specifically for the book Dune<\/a>, written by Frank Herbert in 1965. As of now, it is now a three part movie series, and even though the books are good, the movies are still spectacles to be seen. One thing to note. Dune is the cornerstone and inspiration for many more future science fiction movies and novels, including Star Wars<\/a>, and Star Trek. For those who are not aware, Dune takes place many thousands of years into the future, in a feudal future, which follows a young protagonist as destiny is thrust upon him, as he and his family move onto a desert planet. Yes. A young boy, on a desert planet. Tatooine, or Arrakis? The influence is quite strong. Eventually, over the course of the novels, he overthrows and leads the galactic empire in the setting. As a finishing note, there is also a sequel, and a prequel series, both written after Frank Herbert died, and was passed on to his son, and another author.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
